Fashion Blog: Europe Edition

I have one word for you: tights. Alright, I have a few more than that, but in Europe this season, everything revolves around tights. Girls are wearing everything from pencil skirts to denim shorts with tights. And not your standard Wolfords either (although I wouldn't knock 'em if you got it like that). Tights this season are coming in every color and print, being worn with every kind of shoe (although I prefer a scrunched up mid-calf variety) and in all matter of occasion, whether it be casual or night out on the town.

In addition, and I hate to say it because I anticipate a backlash, fur is another one of the chic-est accessories (no-longer) walking this season. In the trendiest cities' boutiques, they are wearing fur vests, faux of course, but even the flea markets of Amsterdam, Paris and the south of France are filled with vintage furs, displayed without shame.

Lastly, and this one does truly break my heart, puffy coats are back, and tackier than ever. They are no longer just functional, or simple, but adorned with ridiculous fur collars and in the worst cases, even bedazzeled. In a season where camel capelets dominated early on, to see outerwear veer off in such an unimaginative direction is liking seeing your ex with his gold-lame wearing new girlfriend. For those who love puffy coats, I'll just leave it there.

  1. I agree with tights. Us European's love them. Not just now but always. When we try on an outfit the first thing we think is "what tights would I wear with this?" It's just how it is. I'm very grateful that the high street has moved from plain colours (I have many purple, green, blue varities) to print...I now have bows, hearts, pretend suspenders etc. They're just awesome.

Fur...again, check! Faux or vintage only...the vintage may as well be used but we do not encourage people to treat animals badly.

Puff jackets have definitely not made it big in the UK yet...especially bedazzled ones. We're a bit too cool for that I think :p

Have you been travelling or scouring the net? Hope you've been having a fab time either way!
